Modern Ranch
Modernized Ranch Homes are typical one level ranch homes that have been updated and infused with modern design to be more current with the times. Ranch homes were originated in the US in the 1930’s but were built predominantly in Phoenix in the late 1940’s to the early 1970’s. Ranch homes symbolized laid back living and were characterized by their horizontal/ rectangular appearance, large windows, low-pitched rooflines with a lawn and often an ovular pool. In Phoenix a popular trait of a modernized ranch home is a sandblasted exterior that exposes the aggregate of the concrete block used in construction.
